This year we have a fabulous line-up to celebrate each and every identity, interest and individual who is part of our amazing UWL student community.

LGBT In Sport @ Trailfinders from 2pm

Come and support your UWLSU sports teams at Trailfinders and celebrate LGBT in sport. The home fixtures for the week: women’s football, men’s rugby 1st, men’s football 2nd & women’s netball 2nd

Sexual health fair with Spectra @ Paragon Hub

Spectra charity will be heading down to Paragon for the day to offer sexual health advice, free testing and safe sex resources for all students at no cost.

Terrence Higgins Sexual Health Fair @ SMR

Terrence Higgins Trust charity will be heading down to the SU for the day to offer sexual health advice, free testing and safe sex resources for all students at no cost.

LGBTQ+ Society Pub Quiz Takeover

Test your mind and knowledge at this LGBT themed quiz, hosted by the LGBTQ+ society. Tickets are £2 and half of the proceeds will be donated to charity whilst the other half will be given to the winning team to spend as they please! So get your teams of 5 together and play to win a variety of great prizes!

Guest Speaker - Reggie Blennerhassett

Through accomplishing a successful career in over 34 years, Reggie Blennerhassett will be attending the University of West London for a guest speaker talk in celebration of LGBT History Month. From his work with the Lesbian and Gays Support the Miners and how this group was portrayed in the film Pride (2014) to his current employment as Vice-Chancellor of Roehampton University, Reggie will be discussing his career and support of the LGBT community and how we can make this impact across universities.

 

 

 

   22nd February 2018 : 7pm - 11pm   

Secret Cinema Screening of Moonlight

Make yourself comfortable as we transform the bar into a secret cinema for the night. Expect popcorn, hot chocolate & comfortable blanket and pillows so you can relax during this screening of Moonlight. All of the proceeds for this event will be donated to a charity chosen at a later date.

Debate Night with LGBTQ+ and ACS

Come to Freddie’s bar to support the LGBTQ+ society and ACS collaborate a LGBT themed Debate Night. 

In the spirit of coming together and following the passionate success of previous debate nights, we have a special treat for you. Two of our student societies, LGBTQ+ for everything under the rainbow and ACS, for all things within the Afro-Caribbean diaspora have selected a range of interesting topics, free sweets and enticing provocations. Come down to Freddie's bar for this free event and have your voice heard!

Collaborating with the LGBTQ+ society, come and dress as your true self for LGBT History Months final event at West 5. Whether you take inspiration from Cher, Ru Pauls Drag Race or just want to come in your waviest and most colourful garms, you can expect to spend the whole night listening to a variety of the latest hits and classic pop from the likes of Britney Spears and Lady Gaga.
