Are you passionate about supporting students and improving the student experience at UWL? Do you have an interest in Sport, health and wellbeing and the development of students? Are you driven to provide high quality service to students through Sports and physical activities?
The Sports Development Coordinator is a key role within our Community & Belonging team who will support, develop and coordinate student sport and activity through the delivery of competitive (BUCS/LUSL) and non-competitive sport, an onsite Gym, and a dedicated health and fitness programme.
The Sports Development Coordinator will work to ensure that our existing sports clubs are supported through the training of club committees, management and coordination of budgets, and support for students in creating new opportunities for engagement in physical activity. The Sports Development Coordinator will also play a key role in the project management and delivery of the UWLSU Varsity.
The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the up to 3 part-time student staff. We are looking a highly organised individual with a strong attention to detail, budget management and communication skills. You will have experience in working within Student sport and have a good understanding of how student sport works. You will have experience or a desire to work within the health and fitness industry. Line management experience is desired but not essential. You will have experience of working effectively on your own initiative and working to tight deadlines. You will have a strong commitment to equality and diversity, deliver well on your core activity, understand the importance of positive working relationships, display high levels of self-awareness and empathy and understand without a doubt that the union exists for its members.
