Welcome to UWLSU! You’ve just become a member of the number one students' union in the country. We’re here to help you make the most of your time at UWL and leave with more than just a degree.

What to expect

We are your route to some amazing clubs and societies, a thriving and vibrant community and some of the best people you will ever meet. We know that things might be a little different this year but we want to make your experience the best it possibly can be. Here’s a little bit about us...

Advice

UWLSU runs an independent, confidential and free advice service, here to support you through your time at UWL with any issues you may have. Our job is to ensure you have the information and support you need.

You can make contact with the advice team by emailing uwl.su@uwl.ac.uk with your query and we can arrange for an advisor to give you a call. Once you have been allocated an advisor, they will support you from the very start until your issue is resolved.

Course-based Activities

We work with your lecturers to deliver bespoke activity that is directly related to your course or future career. As well as giving you the opportunity to access career enhancing activities as part of your timetable, we also can provide spaces for you to socialise, hold team building activities and develop a community with the people you study with.

Got an idea for a course-based activity? Get in touch! We want to make sure that the activities we deliver are always driven by our students.

Sabbatical Officers

Every year all UWL students get the chance to vote for your leadership! You vote for three students to become Sabbatical Officers and represent your interests, speak on your behalf and run the SU. This year your elected officers are:

  • President - Ancha Joof, who heads up the team!

Course Reps

A course rep is a student who has been elected to represent the students on their course in their year level. Course Reps gather the views and opinions of their peers and communicate that feedback to lecturers and the University staff. They are supported by the Students' Union.

Course Reps are the primary link between staff and students and this program gives students ownership over their education. We don’t want our institution to only work for a certain type of student – we want this university to be accessible to everyone and Course Reps are a great way we can make this happen.
