Welcome to UWLSU

You’ve just become a member of the number one students' union in the country. We’re here to help you make the most of your time at UWL and leave with more than just a degree.

We are your route to some amazing clubs and societies, a thriving and vibrant community and some of the best people you will ever meet. We are looking forward to welcoming back our returning students and meeting all the new faces on campus!

Below you can hear a bit more about what you can look forward and some more juicy info of how you can get involved with us...

Advice

UWLSU runs an independent, confidential and free advice service. We are here to support you through your time at UWL with any issues you may have. Check out the support page for more info on what we do!

You can contact the Advice Team by either emailing uwl.su@uwl.ac.uk or calling 02082312276 with your query, or you can come in to our SMR Campus and head to the UWLSU desk for further information. Once you have been allocated an advisor, they will aim to contact you within 2 working days via your preferred method of contact.

Coffee Union & Freddie's Bar

Between lectures you need a space to relax and unwind. Not only do we have spaces to relax, but we also serve delicious food and drink at both!

Get your caffeine fix from our expert student baristas at Coffee Union, alongside some freshly baked pastries, sandwiches and sweet treats or try our hot breakfast and lunch take away options, perfect between lectures.

Fancy more of a chilled vibe? Head to the SU Bar where we serve up some tasty food from burgers to pizzas and why not grab yourself a tasty mocktail, cocktail or a cheeky pint whilst you’re here too. Whether you want to work, play, catch up with friends or attend one of our evening quizzes or open mic nights, we are here for you!

Community & Belonging

We are dedicated to creating unforgettable extra-curricular activities outside of the lecture room.

There are loads of ways that you can get involved and the most popular of these are student groups, also known as clubs and societies. Joining a club or society allows you to do something you love, meet some like-minded people and make lifelong friends. Academic Societies will also help you gain some really valuable work experience, giving you the extra edge when you graduate. Have a look at all our clubs and societies here.
