Today marks the last day for our SABBs. Stella, Alessio and Glory have worked incredibly hard throughout their time at UWLSU to make sure they are representing students and giving you the best university experience.

Let's look back at their time with us...

Glory has been your VP of Activities over the last year and has shown everyone that she's a natural at engaging with students, letting her bright and bubbly personality shine. The party always kicks off when Glory walks in! She has continuously worked to heighten inclusion in the SU; carrying on the ACE Network and constantly challenging perceptions. Glory has brought her experience with presenting into her role and excelled as a Sabbatical Officer, we can’t wait to see her take every opportunity with confidence and smash whatever she does next!

"It’s been a joy being the VP of Activities at UWLSU. I’m most grateful for the students’ enthusiasm and honesty on what they wanted us to deliver. I’ve also gained confidence during my time here, which will definitely prepare me for my career ahead. I thank both the students, other SABBs, and my colleagues for everything.” Glory

Alessio has done so well in his role as VP of Education that you voted for him twice! So, after 2 fantastic years, what has he achieved? To pick out Alessio’s biggest achievement, he made strides for sustainability in the SU, as well as the university. He never stopped pushing for bigger and better, with there always being more that we can do for the planet. Alessio inspires all of us to speak out when we feel something needs to be questioned. He has grown so much over the last two years, becoming a confident, professional, and all-round great person.

“It has been an absolute pleasure and honour to be your Vice President of Education for the last two years; despite being challenging, this time has been the best of my life. Thank you for believing in me, and I hope I was able to accurately represent your best interest and make sure UWL listened to your voice.” Alessio

Stella started out 2 years ago, as your VP of Activities (which she smashed) and is ending her time at UWLSU as President. Stella’s time as a SABB has centred around inclusion and she has a lot to show for it! From putting a huge LGBTQ+ sticker in the Heartspace to speaking up about difficult topics, Stella has been loud about her mission. Her initiatives also included prevention and awareness around sexual violence, putting on a wider range of inclusive events and creating an SU presence at all of UWL’s campuses. She wanted you all to feel safe and involved. On top of all of this, Stella has built countless connections, become an incredible public speaker and never shied away from an opportunity to get students heard.

"Being able to help students over the last 2 years has been the most rewarding experience. Watching students walk through the doors on their first day, then seeing them grow as people, overcome challenges and celebrate their wins has been beautiful to watch. It's been a pleasure to work for you all and best of luck in your bright bright futures." Stella

What a mark the SABBs have left on UWLSU! We know that the work they’ve done will continue to make changes at the university and can't wait to see what life has in store for them...
