The African-Caribbean Society stands to promote, teach and enjoy African-Caribbean culture with the main focus areas for the 2021-22 academic year is; Black Excellence and Student Involvement.
As a society, we strive to provide a welcoming and encouraging environment where people from all walks of life with interest in Africa and Caribbean culture, can network and build friendships; learn to embrace and cultivate their curiosity into a mature appreciation and understanding of the diverse range of cultures.
For the 2021-22 academic year, ACS wants to focus on involvement from members and self-confidence in students. We look forward to organising great activities and events this year with the help of our amazing committee members. Join us to build the society to be the biggest and best it has ever been.
Purchasing a membership to our society will give you access to all of our weekly meetings, events and activities where you can meet new people and make new friends. Also, you will get regular e-mails and be updated on any upcoming activities and events. Your membership fee goes towards the running of the ACS society and the long term development of our society. As a member, you'll get the opportunity to not only represent your university but you'll also meet loads of like-minded, dedicated and awesome individuals that will become your friends for life.
Events and Activities
Over the course of the year we host a wide number of events including weekly meetings, debates, workshops, games shows, movie nights, vibes n chill, take me out, competitions, uni collabs and more.
Also social outings such as bowling, mini golf, clubbing, go-karting, club karaoke, Thorpe Park fright night, trampolining, sip n paint and many more. This is just a small sample so make sure you join to see what we have in store for you this academic year.

GROUP ADMINISTRATOR - click here
- This role is a new role created to reduce the demand on the President and add value to the treasurer role, therefore, it includes elements of the Treasurer roles. It’s been designed to incorporate the behind-the-scenes administrative work and the financial elements that go into running a student group.
