What's your name and what course do you study?

Hi, I’m Blessing Obadare, and I'm in my second year of MSc Adult Nursing.

Why did you decide to become a school rep?

I became a School Rep because I genuinely enjoy being a voice for other students. As a Course Rep, I saw how much can change when students feel comfortable sharing their experiences and someone takes that feedback forward. I wanted to take that a step further at School level and help create an environment where students feel listened to, supported and represented.

What do you hope to achieve in this role?

I hope to create a stronger connection between students and the university, where students feel comfortable speaking up and know that their feedback is genuinely being heard. By the end of my time as School Rep, I’d like to be able to look back and see that some of the things students raised actually led to positive changes. For me, that would make the role really worthwhile.

How do you plan to represent and support students in your school?

One of the main ways I’ll be supporting students is by making sure their voices are heard. I’ll listen to their feedback, take their feedback into the appropriate meetings, and work with the university to make sure the things they raise are followed up. I want students to feel that when they speak, someone is actually listening and doing something with that feedback.
