What's your name and what course do you study?

My name is Aryan Gerage. I study Media and Communications, and I’m going into my second year.

Why did you decide to become a school rep?

I decided to become a school rep because I wanted to find new and creative ways to interact with students. I think film and video can be a good way to get students involved and share their experiences. I also wanted the opportunity to help make a positive difference at UWL through my work.

What do you hope to achieve in this role?

I hope to listen to students' feedback and help improve any issues they may have. I’d also like to create a film about UWL and its students as a personal project. I think this would be a good way to represent student life and show the university from the students' point of view.

How do you plan to represent and support students in your school?

I’d make sure I’m approachable and willing to listen to students' opinions and concerns. I’d then pass their feedback on and try to help find ways to improve things. I’d also like to use my film and video skills to share students' experiences and help give them a voice.
