What's your name and what course do you study?

My name is Wasiu Abiodun Omoniyi. I am a PhD student in Biomedical Science, and I am currently in my first year.

Why did you decide to become a school rep?

I decided to become a school rep because I genuienly love helping people and I like being someone people can come to. As a student myself, I know that sometimes you can have feedback and not know who to speak to or whether anyone will listen. I want to be that person that listens and helps out as much as I can. 

What do you hope to achieve in this role?

I want to contribute to improving the communication between students and the University, by making it easier for students to raise their feedback and hopefully help in turning it into meaningful changes for them in the University.

How do you plan to represent and support students in your school?

I plan to engage with the students and course representatives by paying attention to the feedback they give me and making sure that their feedback is forwarded to the appropriate University channels. I also want the students to feel comfortable approaching me, even if they are not sure whether their issue is something a School Rep can help with. Sometimes, just having someone who will listen to you can make a big difference.
