1:15pm - 4pm

Little Village supports families with babies and children under five living in poverty across London. They run a baby bank network, collecting, sorting and passing on pre-loved clothes and equipment. Parents are also supported by their dedicated signposting and guidance team, who offer advice and links to other services. In addition, they work with families to share their stories and campaign to fix the systems that trap those families in poverty.
The Volunteering Role:
In this one-off volunteering role you as well as members of the UWL Volunteering and Civic Engagement team will be sorting, checking and organising donations they get from the public, to see if they are in a suitable condition to be gifted to families. This will include:
- Checking items meet our quality standards
- Sorting clothes and accessories by size, gender and type
- Ensuring cots, buggies and other equipment are complete and with instructions (if required)
- Making gift packs of underwear, socks, tights, bibs, linen etc
- Replenishing stock levels with donations when they deplete
AWARDS AND RECOGNITION
These hours will go towards your Volunteering Award automatically, which is the same for any volunteering you do with the VTeam specifically. If you volunteer externally, you will need to fill a logbook and send it to us, you can email us for a downloadable copy. The VAwards have gone but if you still would like a certificate, you can attribute hours between June 2022 until the end of May 2023. Email us if you have any questions at thevteam@uwl.ac.uk.
