Chat with us
SNMH (society of nursing midwifery and healthcare) is made up of current UWL nursing students. Our aim is to improve communication between the different aspects of health and social care for us to better understand the roles we all have and improve our working relationships.
We believe it is important for us to support our fellow students as we understand how difficult and overwhelming the course can seem at times. Our events offer students the opportunity to have additional help on assessments and guidance on clinical skills. The committee would like to enhance the experience of healthcare students at UWL and help them feel more prepared with their studies.
Events and Activities
Last year the committee held a knife crime awareness event had stalls promoting wellbeing and mental health during the #thisgirlcan and UNI mental health day event with Pole Fitness. A workshop was also held to assist with exam preparation for the 2nd year students.
This year the committee have already held several workshops during semester 1 and will continue with the workshops into semester 2 to support our fellow students. All our workshops are for members only and currently delivered via zoom with the links sent out on the day via email and the groups what's app chat. We have some pre-recorded videos to help you with your clinical skills and will be putting on some Q&A sessions to answer any questions you may have about your upcoming placement and completion of your PAD.
We are currently planning a series of events to run over the Nutrition and Hydration awareness week in March so keep an eye out for updates and to find out how you can get involved and who we are collaborating with.
