Introducing Nicoletta Scurtu your school rep for School of Computing and Engineering.

School of Computing and Engineering

Ancha Joof, President

What's your name and what course do you study?

My name is Nicoletta Scurtu and I am a 3rd year BSc Cyber Security student

Why did you decide to become a school rep?

In recent years, I have been actively involved in tech communities and university societies, where I also took on leadership roles. It has been incredibly rewarding to engage people in initiatives, drive positive change, and create opportunities for other students to grow. That is why I decided to take on the role of School Representative, to further engage the UWL community and make an even greater impact.

What do you hope to achieve in this role?

This year, I hope to collaborate with more organisations to bring additional in-person networking events to the university, creating more opportunities for students to connect and engage with one another, especially given the large size of the School of Computing and Engineering.

How do you plan to represent and support students in your school?

I plan to maintain active communication with course representatives, advocate for women in tech, and ensure that everyone’s voices are represented
