The Children of the Piper is exciting new writing, devised by the Voice in Performance level six students. They have all taken on production and design roles in this process and have thrown themselves into every aspect of creation and production, with dedication and professionalism. We decided to explore the enigmatic legend of the children of Hamelin who were immortalised in the story of The Pied Piper. The fate of these children who were led into a mountain by the Piper has always remained a mystery…We updated the story and focused it on the last remaining children in the mountain, their lives prior to hearing the Piper’s Song and the sense of abandonment they feel. A play with songs, laughs and thrills I have been delighted to guide these very talented students through the process and watch them blossom as well-rounded creatives with exciting ideas and great energy. The arts are an ever-evolving industry that needs new voices and ideas, these graduating students can become real trailblazers. We are delighted to present ‘The Children of the Piper’- Enjoy the show.
