What can the Students' Union offer me as a new starter?

We offer a range of services and opportunities to students; academic services, societies and sports clubs' facilitation, opportunities and support with running for student elections, sports Centre support and activities, mindfulness advice, outreach calls, social media activities, prize draws, employment opportunities, official merchandise, 1-2-1 confidential academic support, etc.

How do I sign up to be covered by the Student Union?

No sign-up is necessary! As long as you are a student of the University, you will be able to benefit from our full range of services.

I’m interested in joining a Sports Club or Society, how do I sign up?

We have a wide range of societies and sports clubs at UWL. If you are interested in joining, head over to our Opportunities area where you can browse the wide range of student groups.

We would love to help you create your own society. Please fill in our student group proposal form to let us know which group you are interested in starting. A staff member will be in touch to help you get set up!

To speak to us contact SU Central on 02082312276 or and we will be more than happy help you. Please note that during national lockdowns all our staff are working remotely and will not be able to answer the phone, but our emails are checked hourly!

I’m worried I won't be able to make friends as its lockdown, any suggestions?

Theres loads of ways to make friends, even though we're running virtually. We have created a buddy system where you can be paired with someone who has the same interest’s, OR you can check out our wide range of student groups.

How can I sign up to the gym?

Once we get the green light to re-open from the government, you can then sign up to the gym on our website and you will be able to book your Gym/ Fitness class slots online.
